FACILITIES AND AMENITIES

The huge open to the sides main living space is very much a fair-weather hang out that on most days is a wonderful place to relax with the cool breeze from the valley below wafting through the room. For more privacy or in inclement weather there are two further living spaces. One opposite the kids pool/jacuzzi which is great for lounging about and watching TV or playing board games. The other, which we call "The Quiet Room' is air-conditioned and leads to its own private balcony overlooking the pool. It also contains a small library of books for guests to use. This room, or the adjoining terrace often doubles up as a massage room. Just enquire through our Villa Host to book a massage. After arriving at Villa Wambatu you may never want to leave during your stay. From Anthony's delicious cuisine to an evening game of table tennis or a soothing massage, there are numerous temptations to keep you in the villa apart from simply lounging by the pool and soaking in the luxurious environment. However for those more adventurous in nature we have listed a couple of nearby excursions below that you may wish to do during your stay. When you arrive there is a much more comprehensive list of what to do in the area that will be presented to you by Mark, our Villa host, on arrival.

Free Parking on Premises

Large parking area for up to six cars.

Amazing Views

Amazing views from almost all parts of the villa overlooking the hills and paddy fields to the west. The sunsets are to die for!

52 inch Flat Screen Smart TV

Large smart TV in the family room with Netflix

Family Friendly

Having a family ourselves we love families. There is a family room with smart TV and board games overlooking the children's pool/jaccuzi. Anthony, the chef knows just what to cook for the kids.

Private Bath

All rooms have en-suite bathrooms and two of the rooms - Sunset Bedroom and Jungle Bedroom - have both baths and showers.

Massage in your room

We have a massage table that can be set up in your room or in the outside massage area. A very good local masseur - trained in Ulpotha - is available to book. Just ask one of the staff.

Washer & Dryer

Arrived after an exhausting flight or trip round the country? Just hand your dirty laundry over to the staff and it will be ready cleaned and ironed the next day.

Amazing Pool

A 15 meter lap pool with adjoining Jacuzzi/kids pool is right in front of the villa. Keep an eye on the kids whilst chatting in the large open sided living area. The pool uses an ionizer so no stingy eyes from chlorine!

Table Tennis and Board Games

We have a table tennis area in the garden and the TV room is well stocked with popular board games for all the family.

Mature and Stunning Gardens

There is a small secluded and meditative garden at the front of the house for quiet contemplation. Beside the main living room there is also a stunning embankment garden with over 50 different species of tropical plants just a gaze away from your sofa. Beyond the pool is a lawn for kids to play or to sit at sunset and admire the colours as the sun sinks below the hills to the west. At Villa Wambatu the aim of the design was to allow you to immerse yourself in the richness of a tropical garden without the fear of creepy crawlies.

TAKE A BIKE RIDE

Visit the local beaches or take a tour with IDLE BIKES. They can even come and meet you at the villa with bikes - it's downhill all the way to the beach.

VISIT A NEARBY BEACH

Villa Wambatu is perfectly situated to access Sri Lanka's finest south coast beaches from Galle to Habaraduwa. All in under 20 minutes and - better still - via small country lanes so you hardly ever have to navigate the busy Galle- Matara road. Gamini, our in house Tuk Tuk driver knows all the good beaches.

GALLE FORT

A stay at Villa Wambatu would not be complete without at least one visit to the historical Fort of Galle. Wander around the ramparts, shop in one of the myriad of shopping lanes that crisscross the fort, or dine in one of the beautiful airy boutique hotels.

What a feast for the senses!! I have lived in Sri Lanka for over ten years and never stayed anywhere with close to this perfection and attention to detail
